Take the more relaxed one unless you’re looking for a position above restaurant level.
Busy chains are great for upward movement but come with a ton more hassles.
Relaxed isn’t always good I don’t think though. There’s a few risks but with bigger companies it’s not that bad I don’t think!

I’ve been in that exact situation before and I eventually learned that environment matters more than people think. A little extra pay sounds good, but if the place burns you out or management is rough it catches up fast. If the smaller place felt healthier day to day, that might actually be worth more long term.
That’s true for definite, it’s just risky sometimes with smaller companies
I don't have a choice right now, money is TIGHT. I'm taking the place that pays me the most. Don't care if it's total chaos, I need the cash.
That’s true, it pays the bills!
I would go for the smaller place. In my experience, those usually have better environments. Now that I am older, I value peace over a little more income.
Yeah I think many people do nowadays! Theres little to come by for smaller places!

For job security aspect I'd be going to the bigger chain you don't know what position the smaller one is and if it's toxic in my experience toxicity is worse in smaller places if you don't get in the clique.
I will take the relaxed environment every single time.
I agree I think!

That’s always a tough call. A higher paycheck is nice, but the day to day environment can make a big difference in how much you actually enjoy the job. Sometimes a calmer, supportive place ends up being worth more than a few extra dollars an hour.
That’s true! Supportive is definitely better!

Depends on how much the pay difference is. Smaller places typically involves more work because they can’t afford to employ more staff. Larger places also involve a lot of work because there could be higher turnover but is also busier so the opportunity is there to make more money. There is a possibility of chasing both…guess it really comes down to the money and how much work you’re willing to take on in relation to that amount
The same happened to me 9 years ago. I went to the bigger, higher paying job. I quit 6 weeks later to go to the family owned business. I emailed the owner asking if he was still trying to fill the position, and he was. I quit the bigger job and started at the new place that same same day. My only regret is the 6 weeks wasted.
I would take the family run one less stress unless its a big difference in pay you need to be happy
