I had a phone interview at a University and now I have been invited back to meet with them in person. They told me to expect to be there about an hour and a half and I will be meeting the staff, getting a tour of the space, and answering a few questions. I'd like to get some insight on what questions I could expect that go beyond the basic interview questions I've already answered during my phone interview. Has anyone had a similar experience? Thanks!

In my experience both with interviewing and with how my work handles the same thing, it's often meeting with someone you support and it's standard interview questions. Then there is also a vibe check with the rest of the team.

It sounds like it may not be heavy with questions so much as just you getting a feel for the place and the people getting a sense of what you're like. So the main thing is to just be personable. People tend to hire people they think will be good to work with, that's just obvious. If you're getting a tour of the space you might want to be asking what a typical workday is like, that type of question. Ask about things that look forward and indicate you're very interested in the position.

Good question! I’m not really sure what you should expect. I would maybe consider more specific questions on the role and what the responsibilities will be in it. Perhaps how to improve certain things or how a past experience could help you there. Just kind of brainstorming here. Wishing you best of luck on it!

Need some advice. My friend’s company is forcing them to work in the office while wearing a face mask for 9 hours a day. This has caused my friend to get migraines and experience physical pain above their nose, because they can't breathe. My friend needs the job but I’m worried for them. Is there anything they can do in their situation (besides quit)? They’ve already asked if they can work from home but their boss is unwavering and expects everyone to work from the office, even during a pandemic.

To make job referrals easier, I am making a sticky thread where job seekers can post what roles they're looking for and people who have openings in their organisation can post their requirements as well.

This will make it easier to browse through all the available opportunities in a single thread.

Please feel free to post job referral related questions, opportunities, etc under this pinned post.
