I have 5 years in investment banking, my partner has 10 years in top-tier strategy consulting and a top 5 MBA. We’re looking to acquire a business generating $1M in EBITDA.

The prospect of entrepreneurial freedom and building a compounding asset is incredibly appealing.

My partner makes around $500k annually and is close to a partner promotion, and I earn between $375k-$500k depending on bonus.

Given our trajectories, doesn’t it seem more risk-adjusted to simply maintain our current careers?

Resume question I've had three positions over my career one of which lasted 3 months and that I got fired from, the job search took an additional 2 months. Is it worth it to leave the 3 month stint off my resume? It might be easier to explain getting fired then a 5-month gap I was thinking

Looking for advice: I have an analyst (9 months on the job) who still doesn’t get it - repeatedly misses comments, doesn’t follow instructions, slow, etc. I have raised this to both my MDs and they seem to be adopting a “not my problem” approach when I mention it. I had advised against hiring this analyst post internship and my MD insisted that all the issues I highlighted were fixable. I have tried teaching him to no avail and frustration with him is growing.
