I am reaching out to you all and am looking forward to break into Investment Banking from Consulting. Applied to Goldman Sachs via a referral but my resume is stuck after HireVue. Talked to the VO who referred me and he said Goldman doesn’t hire in Q4. If that’s true and still need to be in GS, can someone forward my resume directly to the team? Their career portal sucks. TIA Goldman Sachs PS: I promise a dinner in a dance place in NY after I get hired as a sign of my gratitude 🙈

Hey, I recently did cases. Feel free to message me
Thank you! Just messaged you
I went through the process, it’s mostly a real problem that they’ve solved in the past. They’ll ask you for your solution, and then will give you the solution they implemented and it’s sort of a discussion on pros and cons and impact. Def not a McKinsey level case study.
Wonderful feedback — cool if I send you a DM to get some more details (if you’re willing to share them that is)
Side note: For what it’s worth, I fully realize it’s not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things, and yet here I am at 3am watching case study YouTube videos🤪
It's just a normal strategy case.
Likely a project they actually did, not necessarily tech related
Any tips at landing an interview at LinkedIn? Yep have ~3.5 years of BO consulting/tech experience looking to make the jump
Scour LinkedIn itself to find a connection who can give you a referral and see if that person is willing to reach out to the recruiter and/or hiring manager after they submit the referral so your name is top of mind. That’s how I landed this interview and others coming up with tech companies.
Kinda just have to get past the embarrassment and be unabashedly thirsty
How did it go? Any insights you can share from your interview?
