I have a new job offer but the employer says they are delayed in running background checks and are asking me if I am comfortable starting employment prior to the check being finalized. I am not concerned about my background check, but going forward prior to it being complete makes me feel nervous. Thoughts on how to respond/proceed?

For those of you who got out at 10, do you wish that you rode it out to 20? I’m at a crossroad and I’m not sure what to do. Have some active/reserve time, wrapping up graduate school, and am now considering either a) come back to the business world or b) go active and retire before 50 and live off a nice pension. Obviously there are draws to both. I’m an officer for what it’s worth so I can realistically retire at O-5, MAYBE O-6.
