I think it’s natural in this economy & all the resumes vs interviews. I can def relate. I came down to the final two twice. Celebrate after each stage! Good luck 🍀
Some of my favorite questions to ask are:
“What about my experience excites you about my candidacy?
What are some strengths and weaknesses of the current team and how do you hope that I fit in?
What are some current goals of the team and what measures are in place to track progress towards those goals?
What does career progression look like with your company and how are performance reviews conducted? Are raises inherently considered in this process?”
I’m sure you’ve got it! 🥳 I recommend that you write down any questions you have about the company & be personal with the director - ask about his/her experiences with the company; people love to talk about themselves in interviews. Good luck!!
I have also found that physically writing out answers (in STAR methodology) to questions or scenarios has helped me a TON! I typically go blank in interviews given anxiety/nerves and this strategy helped me so much. I am able to look at these quick headlines and have so much confidence in my answer.
I think exuding confidence also does a ton in the interview for both yourself and the interviewer! You got this!!

I do this as well! Having them written out and just available in my notebook helps to put my mind at ease. I’ve never had to reference my notes directly in an interview but I could visualize the page where I wrote it in my mind. I simply review my notes right before the interview, and it makes me much less anxious. Highly recommend!
Just make sure you prepare well for that interview. That person still has to give the ok. You’ll do great! Good luck!
Make sure you prep for possible “tell me about a time” scenarios. Best of luck! 🍀
I started holding a stress ball for non-in person interviews. Helps give a place for my anxiety
It's go time ladies. Thanks again for all the support!
Good luck! Rooting for you ^^
It’s normal to be nervous. The order of the interview doesn’t mean that you’ve got it in the bag. They might be interviewing other candidates that you might not be aware of and the decision to skip the a meeting in the order given originally might be a good sign but it might also mean that something caused that to be the case and that could be that you’re a strong candidate OR the interviewer wasn’t going to be available literally anything could have cause that order of events to change. Preparing will be your best friend when it comes to nerves and actually nailing it with confidence and remember that there could be other people still in the running with you. They might also schedule the in-person interview next. Never assume. Just be prepared.
Def especially with memorial weekend coming up. Many changes happening in the order of interviews as well as estimated start dates.
Finished! They were pretty unprepared for the interview and sort of scrambling. It sounded like shit hit the fan today so I'm hoping that's behind the lack of organization and not a lack of interest. We'll see!
Send the thank you letters on Monday either way. Unless it’s a deal breaker. Sometimes it’s more Grace when they are unorganized. Also confirms the way they skipped the original process. This might be the theme.
Good job getting this far. Fingers crossed for you!
If you don't mind a tip, I always found it comforting to write out key messages from my interview examples so I don't forget. Then, I tape them to the wall behind my computer so I can glance at them during the interview. Sometimes I don't even need them but it's comforting to know they are there if i forget something.
Also, deep breathing exercises help regulate anxiety. Breathe deeply for 4 seconds, hold for 7, and exhale for 8.
You got this!!! 🥳
Lots of good suggestions here. In terms of dealing with your nerves, try to turn it around by remembering you're interviewing them as well. Think about all the things you've accomplished and how the things you're being for interviewed now are a level up (so you're prepared) or maybe they're not (you've been there and done this). By looking at yourpreparation through this lense, your perspective changes and you refocus on who you are and know what you bring is more than enough. Energy becomes, why should you work for these people and the interviewer can feel that.
Thank you for this. I usually interview well because I can say (and mean it) that I don't want this position if it isn't right for me.
I think my struggle right now is that I really want this 😬😬😬 and probably for all the wrong reasons after being terminated last month. I'm really looking for validation and I know better 🤦🏼♀️. While this would be a great move for me and my family, other opportunities will come along if this isn't "the one".
If you feel pretty confident about this job, approach the interview with confidence. Act like you’re already a part of the team and a part of the work and issues the team is facing. Bring up comments made in the previous round when you were learning more about the team, role and the company. That will show you’re paying attention. I admit, I can only get away with this if I am confident about the job. If I have reservations or feel unsure or know that I’d be out of my element in the job I’m interviewing for, then I don’t exude my confidence well.
Also, in my current role, I was given an order of interviews by the recruiter and the hiring manager. The hiring manager also mentioned how she may put me through to interview with the vp of the department as well. Great. Now I’m nervous. But in the end, she made her decision without me meeting/interviewing the vp thankfully. So all this to say, there’s nothing written in stone on the order of the interviews - they just make it up as they go. Let’s hope they make a decision fast for you! Best wishes!
Thank you! Super helpful!

I second writing out your answers by hand. Science shows handwritten notes stick in our brains better. You got this! It’s gonna be what it’s gonna be.
You’ve got this!
I just had a director ask me, “name three people, famous or not that have influenced you in your life”..: seriously was blown away by this so that’s why I am telling you. Good luck!
That is funniest thing I have seen all day. I’m at my desk cry laughing. Because that’s 100% me too!! Lol
Yes!
• Write down questions - ask them thought provoking questions, too! I throw in, what are you most proud of, working at X.
• don’t forget to talk about your personal endeavors, too. creative pursuits, Hobbies, pets.
• Don’t over caffeinate. 😵💫
• Most of all, have a conversation…remind your brain / nerves that they’re excited about your resume and background. Just be you ❤️
You’ve got this!
Good call outs!!
