I have more than 10 years of experience in Setts in the banking industry. I have an infant who is few months shy of 1 yo in IFC. I am currently looking for a job.

Setts has unpredictable and long hours. This has been eating me if I should just bite the bullet and do it, but I have no other form of help at home, and I need to pick my infant up by 7pm. What would be the thought process behind taking a huge pay cut with just one income for the slightly better hours in a non banking industry?

At the biotech company I work at avg inside sales is $62,632 with a $3500 per quarter cap. Commission structure is % based on sales quota reached vs capped (not a direct % of sales). I’m underpaid at $53000 with $3500 cap per quarter.

I’m having trouble working in Tax. I’m overwhelmed and am feeling like I’m not producing my best work. I want to talk to someone at work about it but a) I don’t know who to go to and b) feel like it’s not worth it because there’s nothing that anyone can do but tell me to get a different job. I have worked with Forbes top companies, for-profits, non-profits, & startups. I consider myself a solver of complex & complicated problems requiring mixed method research & novel solutions. This has led to issues in self-referencing title. I’ve been project manager, data engineer, developer, modeler, analysts, principle DB developer, etc. Most of my w2 work has been from offers of 1099 clients so I am usually asked to define my own title. Any T-shaped data people who run into this?
