Hello! Looking at an opportunity with established startup in UK that's just been acquired by a large co. I'm US based and my salary is around $250k (NYC) -I've been asked my expectation without the startup giving me a range to work from (though I've asked). I'm not sure how to reply to them because I have a feeling that my requirement may be out of their range and while I don't want to undercut my value, I also don't want to be cut out of the process because it's an interesting co. I have a partner on my project who is full of feedback and suggestions but has never once said thank you to the team for their hard work or acknowledged our strengths. He comes off as very lecturey but the project is going according to plan and the client is happy. I think a little positive feedback would go a long way. Would it be rude of me as PM to ask the partner to strike a more positive, encouraging tone in meetings?

Anyone here started their own government contracting company and subcontracted with other Primes? It’s been something I’m leaning towards as I’ve been building the network for it. I know it’s a bit niche, but would love to hear about other’s experiences.

Note taking is not something I was ever particularly good at. Shorthand, symbols, abbreviations, multiple colors - they're all things I use haphazardly, and without consistency.

I think I really could benefit from stepping up my note taking game.

One of my friends, he made a switch just 6 months back hoping he would get a better work environment a better package, but now he is just frustrated with the working environment, being a backend developer he has been asked to just fix bugs for almost 5 months now and that too in javascript without any KTs or any other trainings when he clearly did mention in the interview that he does not have prior knowledge on javascript.
