Some people are apprehensive about starting another bowl for all black attorneys because it will take away from this bowl. Seeing many of the salaries posted in this bowl, I am extremely eagered to transition from the federal government. Any ideas and/or tips? I started as a student intern and I have transitioned into a specialist roal. This position requires me to be a jack of all trades and the pay maxes out at 87k. The federal government uses an old metric pay system called the GS scale that requires us to be within grade at minimum 52 weeks. I'm tired of waiting to get what I was promised/owed.

I lateraled after two years of bad reviews and failing to be promoted to the next class year at the firm I summered at. When I lateraled, I was brought on at the class year that matched my graduation year but was unsure if I had what it took to be a biglaw attorney. I had my annual review yesterday and was promoted (and received nothing but positive feedback). Sometimes it isn't you.
