Anyone here started their own government contracting company and subcontracted with other Primes? It’s been something I’m leaning towards as I’ve been building the network for it. I know it’s a bit niche, but would love to hear about other’s experiences.

I've known people who did this. It's a very lucrative business. Look into trade associations and business groups in this sector, especially in the DC area as that's where a lot of this business is in.

I live in the DMV area so it has been looking like a good fit and opportunity to go for. I appreciate the reply.

Anyone here who made the exit from Big 4/MBB consulting to a VC? If so, I’d love to hear about how the experience is so far. (Not to mention the WLB and comp!) I’m considering a career change but have no one in my network I can go to for insights. Thx! 🙏🏾

Are there many legitimate ethical hurdles when switching from insurance defense to plaintiff’s work? I’ve always seen myself as a plaintiff’s lawyer, but ultimately took an ID job out of law school (better salary, no real opportunities at plaintiffs firms that I liked). I'm getting a MAcc to career change to forensic accounting. What opportunities are available to me with a data analytics heavy MAcc? I'm also tacking on 2 graduate certificates in Applied Statistics and International Economic Policy? For those in the field, would that be useful or not useful (i.e. waste of time)? I'm interested in investigations but also analytics, financial modeling, and expert witness services. Throw in salary potential for bonus points. I'll be getting my CPA, CFE, and CAMS.

I’m in-house at a small company (60 people), started right out of law school about 5 years ago. We had a legal team of 5 then. Everyone has left and we just hired a new GC. I went from $70k to $100k a little over a year ago. I am expecting an offer from a firm doing business law work but think this might be an opportunity to go to my current employer and ask for a significant raise, with new offer in hand. Any thoughts or advice going into this?

Got a temp offer for less than a year without promise of turning into full-time. Wanted to know what ppl think about temp jobs (looks bad on resume if I don't turn full-time later within the company?) and what comp should look like (e.g. 1.2× of regular comp?).

Got another perm offer in a different industry for similar salary, but I might have to relocate and I'm concerned the work may involve translation instead of pure legal work.

Hi All,
Just want your suggestion on this to help me decide.
I've been working in QA team for big data project and recently I've got offers from Startup and service based MNC as data engineer for the role of Data Engineer.
I've not worked on the actual development of ETL batches till now but I want to learn and grow gradually.

What kind of organisation would be best for me considering my mental health as well because I take too much stress ?

Thanks 🙏

Help me with my struggle!

I'm in Oklahoma, and an avid Aldi shopper. Prior to COVID, my favorite merlot was routinely stocked there - under $6 a bottle and better than many $30 bottles I've had. It was by Burlwood Cellars. Sadly, supply chain issues have apparently done a number on Aldi's wine selection and it's not carried there anymore. I've searched high and low for a comparable merlot, but to no avail. So I need alternate suggestions or better still, somewhere I can buy my old fav.
