My contract is coming to an end so I contacted my manager was offered an job at same 7b level at 17 lakhs . Should I take the offer , will I have growth in the Company? Fidelity Investments I joined FIL on 08th August 2022 and hence was eligible for appraisal but even after a good feedback, I was told that there is no increment in salary as well as bonus because of "Too Soon To Decide" rating. And this is being followed not just in our team but in whole FIL. This is the first time I am hearing such kind of thing and didn't found any thing like this on "HR Hub". The interviewer was not supposed to ask that question, just mention it has already been told to HR and move on.
It makes a lot of difference when you disclose the number. The interviewer might see this as a colleague getting more money than herself.
I see many times director's taking interview and they are aware of budget and money matters.
I initially declined to answer ( it wasnt a hiring manager / HR) sighting confidentiality. But she was very pushy about it and then I quoted a number ( I could see her expression changing)
Long story short next day I received the auto generated email ( rejection sighting non fitment of skill set ) mind you I have 2 industry certificates in the same domain and this is what have done my whole career.
My question is this ethical? Isn't it a conflict of interest? Should I drop a note to HR ? Or should I just let it go.
This happened with me in capegemini, it was managerial round, she was so adamant then I shared the salary range, I saw the look on her face on zoom, she got flabbergasted. Next day I also got rejection mail. I shouldn't have revealed the range.
It might be that you were asking for a very high number and that was shared ahead with hiring manager. I dont think there would be any benefit of you reaching out to HR. Ideally she shouldn’t be asking these questions. next time if someone is being pushy tell them politely I have had these discussions with HR before hand and I was told this would be a tech round
Out of curiosity, how much did you mention as the current salary, which Fidelity Hiring Manager was surprised.
Okh tell us the no's atleast and skill sets so we can have idea....
Also it is not ethical.
