Technology in the Class

I just started using NearPod after hearing so much about it - what do you like? What do you dislike? Do you pay for their content or make your own?

I usually make my own or use one that is shared with me. I like that you can add activities within your presentations. It also allows me to assign a nearpod as an assignment. I'll take their participation as a grade.

I love the virtual field trips the most.... And the Time To Climb review game. 🤓

I like the flexibility of being able to add videos and to assign as a self-paced lesson. I just make sure they show me their notes and answers to any questions I used when they're done. I use nearpod for any multiple choice quizzes I want to do. Instant grading! The school has a free trial right now.

Kids love the competition! I make my own content and although it takes time, I can easily update it from year to year.

I create my own mostly by uploading the materials (slides how's, pdfs, etc.) from my curriculum. I love that I can share it with others who teach the same subject as me at my school. I also oive the Collab boards where students can like each other's answers

Some of these posts are ridiculous. They’re like just exited consulting to FAANG/Niche Startup with $150k base and $400k TC with 6 months of experience, you can do it too! Then they ghost or explain that they are a former SWE 😬 coming from MBB. Going to some super Niche role that people with crazy backgrounds are recruited for. Congrats, but not everyone has that background

Hi fishes! I Have an interview at an agency in NY I’ve been crushing on for a while. Having a hard time figuring out my salary range. I make 90k in SF at agency, would it be crazy for me to enter the discussion at 85-90k? Knowing I’d be willing to be backed down to around 80k (give or take 2k). Glassdoor is a little confusing bc there’s separate suggestions for “senior designer” and “senior graphic designer”. Anyone have suggestions or willing to offer how much they make? Thanks y’all!
