Hello!
I finished my final round(s) for a TAM position at Google (GCP) last week and was told by my recruiter that my feedback was great and that I made a solid impression on the team and am "firmly in the running". I was supposed to hear back this week (according to the recruiter) but he just told me that it's still in the process and that I'll have to wait for another week or so.
Is this common at Google ? I have heard they are notorious for being really slow with their hiring process.
Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?

To be honest, my experience is great ! Work balance is much better than that of other consulting firms, colleagues are people-smart, empathetic and inspiring.
The profile diversity is a big plus as you learn a lot from a wide range of profiles.
Any interview tips? And types of cases to study?
Interview tips :
- Be yourself, no need to act like someone you’re not
- Always justify your arguments with numbers / computations
- Try as much to be outgoing, empathetic and a good listener. The interviewer wants to see if you’re suitable for when dealing with a client, and how you would react to some situations
- It’s OK if you don’t finish the case as long as your methodology is effective
- Study for the fit interview and before having the interview, list some questions to ask the interviewer at the end
