I just watched someone give an oral argument while reading from their phone, and it got me thinking… 🧐

When I started practicing in 2016, reading your argument from typed notes or a legal pad was the norm. But now, most folks type & edit their arguments on their phones, tablets, laptops, etc. I’d be open to reading from my laptop, but I’m too scared to try it😬

What do folks think about lawyers/speakers reading from their cell phones or laptops? Is it too distracting, or is it the new norm? 🤔

I think volunteering as a family can help install the value of giving back and zakaat. How can one make Ramadan and Eid something to look forward to when holidays like Christmas seem to be purely joyous occasion that one doesn’t have to put in work for like fasting for Ramadan?

Will an offer made in paper by one organization get revoked if a counter offer from other organisation is submitted to negotiate a better salary?
Also need an advice on should i submit the counter offer even if i prefer the first organisation only to improve the salary which is less as offered now?

Do you ever feel like there are rooms you’re locked out of? I’m a black woman, i lateraled to my group a few months ago with minimal onboarding and welcome. A white woman joined recently and everyone has bent over backwards to make her feel welcome and get her integrated into the group. People have invested less in me and it’s going to show in a few years when she’s up for partner and I’m still catching up.
