Lol, I thought this as well. I feel like there's a really limited and narrow view of what hobbies are. Not every hobby has to be creative or expensive or time-consuming. My hobby is playing video games, and I enjoy it a lot. It doesn't feel like it takes a lot of energy and in fact can be very exciting and invigorating. Some people go to the gym, some people kayak or do something outside. It's all about finding the thing that gives you enjoyment and doesn't exhaust you.

There's always something that unleashes you inner will power without pushing so hard! That's where our true selves lives/stays
When the weather is nice I really enjoy getting involved with gardening. Just dealing with soil and seeds and plants can be gratifying. And best of all, no keyboards, screens, or annoying coworkers.
I love pottering around the garden. I don’t really have a garden, just some pots with plants. Some are experimental like growing basil and propagating them. There is something really calming and satisfying about watching things grow. I also planted a single potato in a brown paper bag and it is growing like crazy. I can’t wait to harvest them in a few weeks. I have planted some flowers too. Some die, some survive. It really doesn’t take a lot of time and you don’t have to go big to get started. Highly recommended.

Crocheting helps me clear my mind. My problem is the motivation to start
Basically works wonders for your mental health to focus on something other than work. Can you put work in a box and if you need to be working around the clock, can you set better expectations?
My burnout was a perpetual cycle of thinking about work constantly it disrupting my sleep and barely having enough energy to get through the day even only working 9 to 5 often even less, I could barely manage.
But once I started focusing my mind on other things, got the energy to have a reset, and set realistic expectations and ways of working.
Burnout becomes the sustained mental loop in a way. Your mind gets used to it and you need to intentionally pull yourself out because it is now the default.
Agreed. For me managing burnout was a bit different. To do that, I also had to allow myself the temporary discomfort of appearing to do less by setting boundaries. I worried a lot about that. But once I chose me and let everything else play out, it was okay. But I know it’s risky for some people.

It's about the motivation. What motivates you? What do you enjoy doing?

I normally believe that if nothing motivates a human being then something really bad hit them- they're no longer living but surviving!

It honestly does help, you just need to find the right one. Once you find it, it all clicks into place
Burnout is sometimes less about rest and capacity, and more about motivation and hope. It’s a lot easier to go to work day to day if you feel like you’re working towards something.
When the ambient temperature of the world feels like it’s notched up 25 degrees and chaos is everywhere, burnout can start to happen even in relatively comfortable, rewarding jobs - you have to a) put blinders on to the bad for a bit (turn off social media/news), b) distract and get into flow (hobbies or passions), and c) rest. Sleep. Turn off your brain.
Hobby (noun): a pursuit outside one's regular occupation engaged in especially for relaxation
Based on the definition, whatever you do outside of work that relaxes you is a hobby.
