So- we run Dynamic Creative Optimization (DCO) for our clients display ads in a feed and corresponding google sheet via Google DoubleClick. My q is- does anyone know what systems out there allow for creating a template that will automatically pull a product image from say Target.com and automatically building the ad & copy without manually making 1000 ads via row for row in the google sheet? I know this is possible but curious if Sizmek or Flashtalking are more common in this type of creative development.

Something that’s helped me is deliberately varying my sensory input during long meetings. There’s research showing that mild sensory stimulation, like holding a textured object (a paperclip, pen with a rubber grip, or even a fidget ring) can help maintain focus without distracting you. It’s called “self-regulation through tactile input,” and it gives your brain just enough extra stimulation to stay alert without pulling you away from the meeting.
Also, standing up can actually boost focus because it increases blood flow and wakes up your nervous system. If you’re in person, say something like, “Hope you don’t mind if I stand for a bit, I focus better that way.” I’ve done this a lot. Most people won’t think twice, you’re modeling a healthy practice.
These are great tips!! Going to try them out. Thank you so much for the advice!
I take notes. Not necessarily because I always need to reference the information later but because it helps me to listen actively. Writing down what is being said helps me stay in the moment and not be constantly distracted or let my mind wander.
Yes! Like writing notes like this by hand.
Get a standing desk and stand during meetings. That and taking notes is what saved me. Good for your back too
Take notes and jot down thoughts/questions that you think of while you're in the middle of the meeting. I do this throughout so that when I'm called on or have time to speak, I have a list of talking points. It keeps me engaged and ensures I don't draw a blank whenever I'm put on the spot.
I’m going to try this today!! Good way to start the week
Take a walk while you listen.
Leave your phone in another room.
Notes, as others have said
Write notes by hand. Stand every 20-30 minutes and walk to the back of the room. Ask questions and interact with the presenter as appropriate. They also appreciate it so that it's more of a dialogue and less of a lecture.
Ask clarifying questions. Even if it’s a ‘am I understanding this right’ and to repeat a concept. This also builds a connection the presenter/facilitator and positions you as a leader in front of the group.
I think we all struggle with this from time to time. I try and sit near or under an AC vent to keep myself chilly and alert. I also take notes to keep my mind engaged. I hate the taste of coffee, so that's not an option for me.
Your zoning out is valid. Meetings should never be excruciatingly long. Keep to a sharp agenda, collaborate on the call, and get great work done after.
Smh some people love hearing themselves talk without respect for others' time.
