here’s a tip - you should be networking and applying for jobs at all times even when you have a job. treat your employer as your client. focus on making them happy but don’t think that they owe you anything or that there is any loyalty between the both of you because they won’t hesitate to cut you if the going gets tough or you mess up. instead, try to gain knowledge that you can leverage for the next opportunity. work is just collecting skills that you can leverage elsewhere for much more money. there are no friendships in business, especially with your boss. just what can you learn to sell to the highest bidder. you need to have an up or out mentality. no promotion, then time to open up the bidding to the rest of the market. but you need to let the market know what you can offer at all times because at the end of the day, you work for yourself.
With everyone knowing each other in this industry. Doesn't it look bad to be applying at all places while having a job?
Op I just lost my job and I was freaking the f out initially. But I’m calm now. It’s ok. Life goes on. I’m using this time to explore myself and my career. With unemployment benefits and financial security it really can’t be so bad. Dm me if you want to talk
Don’t worry my friend. It will all work out in the end. If you get laid off, you will find your footing again. Focus on your skills, your family and friends. Take care of your health. Life is finite and this job is just a part of it not everything and doesn’t define you. Take care.
i lost my job and I have good news: you don’t have to worry about losing your job when you don’t have one!
see, always a silver lining isn’t there ?
Samesies!!

I’ve been laid off a couple of times in my career.
It sucks, but what I found out was I survived the events. And actually thrived in the long run.
Same here. Life is actually better. At the time you may not feel your best, but know the best is yet to come. 2020 is a time for reset. The best stories come from uncertainty and struggle. See history.
“Talent rises to the top.” You didn’t get your position by accident. Even if you do get laid off, you’ll find your way to the top again!
Ask your tfs to join a call center or SBA project.
+1s are good. Also need to manage your chargeability. Don’t worry live and learn whatever happens you are young - no one expects you to perfect
You will be ok. Just like you got this job, you’ll get another. If it helps alleviate your anxiety, be proactive. Line up finances. Start looking for jobs, book mark job listings you think would be a good fit, update your resume, call a friend and breath.
OP - we have access to 5 free counseling sessions at Accenture if you aren't on your parents plan - might be helpful to talk through. counselors can be really helpful at stuff like this but its also a tangible step you can take. Def has helped me when I was feeling a bit powerless

And yes I know things could be worse for me, but this is my personal struggle and is a big deal for me. Not trying to say my situation is more dire than anyone else’s
Use your anxiety to gain momentum, never as an excuse. I won't admit this openly, but I was fired some years ago and I struggled a LOT with anxiety. The point is that I learned from the situation, I came back and that boosted my confidence. We all are in risk to be unemployed, but I'm less afraid now. Use your resources to cope with your anxiety call your work support line, exercise your body run, walk, eat well and sleep well. Find solutions not excuses. That works for me.

Not sure how anything will work out. There are no new project available, and my chargeability is already low. I’m losing sleep every night over this
Maybe getting laid off will actually help you destress worst case you make some lifestyle changes, get unemployment and ride out the layoffs then look for another job, just another set of ups and downs in life don't panic!
Please learn to breathe again brother. I am too. I understand.
They have plenty of government projects for yoi

Normal to be worried. I’m older and have the same concerns, even though business is busy for now. Consider EAP or find a friend to talk to.
