Less in this one than just about any other. Turnover in retail is crazy. And you've got a very valid reason for leaving. If you're not getting enough hours to pay bills, you really don't have any other choice.
Yeah it is valid, it’s just awkward when someone asks!
If I was looking at your resume and this was the only short term job I would not think much about it, but if you had two or more with short stints I would lean towards asking why they were so short term.
Yeah that’s true, I guess it just depends on the employer!
I'm sure it probably won't help, but I don't think it'll hurt as much as you might think it will. Sometimes jobs just don't work out for whatever reason and HR people know that.
That’s very true and unfortunate!

In retail, short stints are pretty common, so three months usually isn’t a red flag. Employers mostly look at your overall experience and what you learned. Being honest about needing stability is fair and understandable. Did you enjoy the work itself while you were there?
Thats true I guess! It was okay work it’s just ashame about the circumstances!
Pro
I think, for the most part, it does matter. It shows decisiveness, dedication and career progression. Short stints tell me this person very well could repeat the same pattern if I hired them, no matter how much I like their personality or how reputable the establishments in which they worked.
I think it might vary manager to manager I guess. It just deoends on the circumstances! I’d definitely be honest if it came to why though!
