Here is the scenario: Have 2 offers from IT MNCs and 1 from Citi. Citi's offer is the highest. Almost 5 lakhs diff in the fixed component. Although money is important, but I am also seeking a little balance with life. I was previously in ZS Associates and to be frank, life was hell. I am not looking to relive that phase again.
What are the daily actual working hours?
Shall I join Citi or let go it for a lower package offer?

Doing what? Immediate reaction, yes
Doesn't answer the question, doing what. Investment team, ops, etc.
The idea scares the crap out of me because I know I'm not super driven. But I guess part of it is that... I need to be more scared and work right now is too easy. I'm getting like 40 hours a week and that's with me working really really slowly
100% go for it. PE is the holy grail. If you hate it, you can come back to consulting or move to something else way cooler than what you are doing now. And getting a chance to be an investment analyst out of B4 is very rare from my experience. Im in a similar position, starting a PE gig next month.
** also business school placement will be 100x better
They're not going to give you a job if they don't think you can handle it. Your job is to prepare yourself as much as you can for the role. Be honest about your background and your interest and look for ways to draw parallels. Understand private equity. Understand the business. How it works. Understand LBO's. since they are a 40 man shop they focus on an industry or a geography, find out that focus and know it in and out.
Private equity. Along with hedge funds and venture capital are supposed to be the holy grail of prestigious jobs for young professionals.
Just a small 40+ person pe firm looking to hire for pre-mba candidate
P1, Oh sorry, investment team. Seems to be dd, deals, and managing investments post closing
I also don't know enough about finance or the high finance industry, but would be coming from a very operational background in organizational and people management so lol
If you wanna be a 9-5 clock in clock out then don't take the role. Most people do whatever they can to get a chance to interview.
I'm ok with more work. Done those proposals and firm activities. As long as it's not ib hours. My biggest concern is probably my lack of finance knowledge. What were the most important things to know or practice in a pe interview?
If you're not ready would you share so other 🐠🐟 can jump on it 😅
Lol sorry I'm gonna try for it and it's through a known contact. I just need to delay their interview process so I can prep more.
What does PE stand for?
