Don't get me wrong, Dreamforce is a valuable experience, but it's primarily for marketing and sales opportunities. I'd imagine leadership sees a lot of requests from younger consultants looking to go to the headliner concert haha
@d1 I appreciate your comments. I'm currently being recruited by ⛷. They are making a great offer and I'm quite torn.
I'll be banned again if I share my opinions on Slalom. You've got to recognize that most firms externally market themselves as the best of everything.

Weird how this started about training, and turned into talk about offers. OP talk to your PM and if you don't like the answer go talk to JT.
@d1 ive been here for almost 2 years (basically im a grand wizard elder in slalom time) and presented this huge written proposal. all the local offices send one or two ppl a year but cross market (our national practice) is getting screwed

Just had to get that off my chest. It's complete BS, their recruiters tout our unlimited professional development budget but then when it actually comes down to sending people to the most important conference of the year, they dont!

OP - I've worked on large projects where Slalom has also been involved three times. Each time, the team added minimal value and would get butt hurt, complain to the client that we weren't inclusive enough with them and yadda yadda. The last time, I had to have a meeting with the Slalom lead and a client VP. The Slalom lead didn't react well when I said that we would love to work with them, but they left at 5pm every day, so in the interest of speed and client value, we pretty much had to do our own thing.
I have to agree with D1, been on a few projects with Slalom where the teams consistently drop the ball and blame it on the nearest Big4 or ACN employee.
OP please spend some time reading through the stories on this app... Real consulting quality takes way more effort than a 9-5 can deliver
