Marketing is one of the fastest evolving industries. Constant changes all the time, so you have to adapt to be successful. You have to get comfortable with being uncomfortable.
Also you have to work to prevent unrealistic expectations.
Get testimonials/reviews and make case studies. Also a big chunk of the work is managing expectations.
Always seems to get its budget cut always connect your projects with revenue.
Clients will expect you to be a magician and half of your job will be explaining that you can't make them rich over night.
Start with the end in mind. Know what you want and be willing to work for it. It's not an easy field to break into, but it's worth it. Stay focused and don't get caught up in the distractions. There will be times when you feel like you're swimming upstream, but don't give up.
