Kids are a concern, pets not so much
Back when I used to have to do video calls my animals would occasionally walk by. I mean, I’m at home, I’m not locking them up in their own home.
Thank gd for littles and animals 💖✨
If it's a one off on the kids, I do not see a reason for concern. If it's turning into a regular thing with the same offenders then I could see an issue. Pets walking by no issue. Loud dogs barking see above with kids.
For me.. it used to be my mum... confused as ever walking in the background.. so where people would apologise for their pets and kids. I was apologising for the appearances my mum would make
My cats will be good and quiet until I go on Teams, then they jump on the desk and walk back and forth constantly. I will let them if I’m on with a peer or informal, but on real meetings I have to go off camera and kick them out of the room.
I love it
OP I absolutely love when people's pets and kids show up on our video calls. We have several people who have cats and its so funny because cats just do what they want so sometimes they just go walking across the screen, in and out real quick. It always makes me laugh when we get to see someones cat or dog.
Love kids & dogs but not everyone appreciates the distraction. I try to keep it to a minimum to be respectful of everyone else’s time.
Entirely dependent on the situation. I don’t like to make assumptions during those meetings. There could be somebody else watching the child and they just so happened to come into the room. Then pets I really do not see an issue with. I actually remember somebody, not sure if it was this bowl, but talking about how they had issues with a cat walking by behind them? Seems a little much to me.
Can be good. Can be bad. Depends on the setting and what is going on. If it consistently happens and it consistently interferes with the work at hand...it is not a good. If it rarely happens or does not interfere regularly, not a big deal.
I love this as well. My associate medical director's cat used to visit us all during COVID. His name was Rufus and he was an elderly little guy but always had purrs for us. My daughter's cat likes to jump up on my desk during Zooms, or at the least meow so everyone know's she's there.
My tortie is NOTORIOUS for this. Or sniffing the freaking camera lens😂😂😂😂 she does do whatever she pleases😵🫠🥴
Chief
I do not lol
