I made a big mistake and picked up a third client and it's too much for me to keep all the balls in the air. However I sort of promised a 6-month commitment at this place, and that means that one of my long-time clients would have to go. I have one for 60 hours/mo that I don't love a lot anymore, and then I have one for 20 that I wouldn't really want to give up but that would be enough to manage with this new one. Any way I cut it I'd be low on cash. Ugh, help me choose.

What role is it for? Maybe you can outsource some of the work to a 3rd party and keep some of the pay? For example, I’m a person looking for a second gig, but only want 15-20 hours a week. I’m in project/ program management wouldn’t mind being support for someone with too much work.

What are you doing with the other 80 hours a month?

DM if you need me to offload some Data & Analytics work. Especially if it is Tableau.

Choose the 2 that offer the best cost/benefit and cut the 3rd. If the new one is the 3rd, tough cookies. Your own well-being comes before promises, otherwise Lord help you.

How do you deal with the following - 1) lack of general organization in life, note taking, keeping track of your relationships and 2) attention to detail. These 2 things have been bothering me a lot. We all are smart as hell but silly mistakes such as spelling mistakes, broader checks to be done on the deck is killing me. Also I feel the lack of organization in personal life blows into professional as well. If you are a consultant how do u deal with it ?

Does anyone have any insight on picking up a J2 while working for the US Federal Government? Does holding a high security clearance play a role in maintaining a J1&2; as in, will periodic clearance checks for J1 hit on J2?

Currently have J1 as current employer used The work one for my BC. I looked at Equifax/ The work one to see if J2 uses that service, fortunately they don’t.
Question - if J2 runs a BC for J1 and Finds out I am still employed isn’t that a red flag?

Ok, I’m in. What are the salaries of some of the jobs you guys are doing, and the daily demands (hours and typical time of day you need to be “online”)? Are we talking working 2 90k jobs or the second job is a $35k data entry side gig?

I would like to hear from any UX Program Managers who are willing to share their experience.

How difficult is it to juggle a remote role with a hybrid role?

My current role is hybrid with at least two days a week in office. However, with the potential economic downturn, I'm considering holding on to the role to supplement my income.

I'm new to the overemployed movement, so I'm evaluating the feasibility of holding onto the hybrid role and the remote position.

Chatter about a recession have anyone considering obtaining an additional job?

I really want to get a second job but I am scared of losing my current one. Both companies are in same field, although not direct competitors so I know it’s technically “not allowed” however, this is the only way for me to get that $$ since I am not paid all that well.

Of course I won’t tell a single friend/coworker. Only my partner. And I don’t post work stuff on social media.

Realistically what are the ODDS of being caught? Is there a legal/HR process with which they could find out??

Anyone have multiple FT jobs? I'm looking about to land a new primary FT job, as my current job is very very slow, doesn't really have any projects for me, and could end at any time (with a 30 day notice).
Where there any legal issues? (The two companies area in different industries so no competition). How did you manage both? The new company knows I'm still employed, should I quit the first or keep it as long as I can manage both? Any bad vibes or feelings of unprofessionalism? TIA

I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. Does anyone have experience or advice?
