What's the salary range for a director at the Gilead Sciences foundation? There is a position perfect for me, but I don't want to throw my hat in the ring if starting salary isn't $180-190k. Also, any thoughts on the stability of their philanthropic commitment? There's talk of a recession; I don't want to go private to be cute a few months later.
Hi folks,
I've got an offer from Netcracker recently.
Based on the salary discussion, HR released the offer with 2Lakh less as promised and now telling me over and over again that they will revice it near the joining date and this is the process they follow for every candidate so that they don't go and shop in the market.Do you think I should trust them as they haven't given me anything in written but keeps on promising me over phone calls that closer to my joining date they will revise the offer.

Whatever it ends up doing, you can bet it won't be in the best interest of employees. It's going to lead to there being fewer jobs available, and that in turn will make the competition for each even greater. That's going to push salaries down across the board IMO. Don't like what they're offering? No big deal to employers. They know someone out there will be desperate enough to accept.
I totally get your concern. It does seem like the rise of AI could create a more competitive job market, which might not work in favour of employees. The thought of fewer jobs and lower salaries is definitely worryng. It’s frustrating when companies have so much leverage over employees, especially when they know there are always people willing to take those offers. Appreciate you sharing your perspective!
The honest short answer is that in most cases, the efficiency gains from AI probably won't translate into higher pay for the people still doing the work at least not automatically or proportionally. It may take some time for us to get there but may happen eventually
You make a great point. It’s unlikely that the efficiency gains from AI will lead to immediate pay increases for workers. It might take a while for the benefits to trickle down, if they ever do. It’s complex situation, and it’ll be interesting to see how it all unfolds in the coming years. Thanks for sharing your honest take on it!
