I recently received verbal offer for a Program Manager role but before it was finalized, the recruiter informed me that due to headcount reorganization, they can no longer extend it. They mentioned I received great feedback and want to help me find another role within Amazon.

This is pretty common from what I understand. For instance, I got one the in the middle of a reorg and my title and role scope changed between interviews and formal offer time. I was lucky that the team kept headcount but I had to adjust my role/ compensation expectations slightly… keep following up with the recruiter (really do). They are so swamped with reorgs so you might have to follow up a few times
I’ve also seen advice that you should be proactive in looking at roles opening up in the same job family and flagging to your recruiter.
Thanks for sharing your exp and advice. I’ve been following up with new roles and hopefully something works out.
That’s unfortunate but you’re in a much better position now with positive feedback from that interview loop for hiring managers to see. Verify with the recruiter how long you have and start looking for openings/teams you’re interested in. You’ll likely have better luck the second time.
Agreed. Thank you!
