I recently transferred offices from the east coast to Southern California. I wasn’t given a salary adjustment because of “COVID reasons” and I now have no idea if I’m being underpaid. I’m currently make $75k as an S2 in core tax. How unhappy should I be right now?

If I recall correctly, you sound underpaid by about $5K or so but everyone is currently in that same boat. The variance doesn’t sound like enough to complain about (other than to your mom).

Hahah that’s honestly what I suspected. I just wanted the information to know and to keep in mind for next year.

Sounds exactly right given the current situation.

Great! Thank you.

I made 78k as an S2 in Atlanta. Not sure what your COL is compared to Atlanta. I am in federal tax as well.

dude thats a ton! new s1s this year in Atlanta barely broke 60k in deloitte core

like

Are you at a big 4 firm?

Yup. KPMG

Senior 1 and will be Senior 2 next month. EY doesn’t have raise for progression within the same rank. I make 78K

Irvine, tax, 83K as S2 in 2019

Depends where in Southern California & what department, but you’re perhaps 5-10k below where you should be.

Good that they relocated you. Count that as a huge blessing. Most people I speak to are told ‘no’ to changing region.

If you’re happy with the move & the work is okay, just stick it out & take the L from a comp perspective, for now. Hopefully it’ll be easier to move/progress next year.

Hi everyone

Is it okay to try for more offers in the notice period?
I am feeling like why I am doing this but at the same time want to best offers.
And also thinking how should I convey if I didn't join the company even after negotiating and asking for a counter offer based on another offer.
Please advise and suggest.

Thanks

Hey all, Happy Monday. Curious for feedback on how you've seen severance offers approached.

My prior companies have always been what I thought of as average: min of 2 weeks plus extra week for every year for ICs, min of 4 weeks plus extra week for every year for managers, etc. for Directors & beyond.

Current co refuses to offer more than 1-2 weeks, max. I had to go to bat recently for a 3 year + manager level only to get 3 weeks and my leadership team is NOT happy with me.

Thoughts?

I’m negotiating my salary, and I’m curious what a reporter/digital editorial lead makes at your company? I have 15+ years of experience in employee communications and TV news, and I live in the Seattle area. I report to my director who reports to our SVP, and I’ve worked for this Fortune 20 company for 10 yrs. Any info would be helpful. Thank you!

So should I negotiate equity in every round of funding?
