Just message them! I wouldn’t set up 1:1s, that just sounds awkward. But it’s courteous to give them a heads up and not just Irish goodbye. You never know when you might need one of those connections in the future
Pretty sure most of the world is saying Irish Goodbye.
They had me working until I was locked out of my computer on Friday at 5pm 🤠
1:1 emails are perfect. Also a group email is a smart idea thanking the team and offloading projects to them.
Pro Tip: It’s a small industry (and getting smaller by the quarter) so leaving them with positive feelings about you is definitely the way to go.
You never know when your paths will across again or if you’ll want to reach out to them in the future for potential job opportunities
I like to go through the work I did and make sure I have a record of my accomplishments in my time with the company. It’s helpful to include on your resume or have in your back pocket for future interviews - especially anything quantifiable that would be hard to verify later on (ROI, KPI performance increases, etc)
This right here. It's hard to remember all the things you've done and you'll think you have everything and then a month after you leave you'll remember something else you wish you had a copy of. Try to make sure you have examples of all the work you've done.
Don’t break your neck this week, tie up any loose ends, bill any free time to your unused sick time since you’re not gonna get paid back for it anyway
Download all your work examples.
Reach out to anyone you had a good working relationship with.
Make sure everything is squared off in terms of pay, 401k contributions and health insurance.
And even if you weren't close and you're happy to be leaving, take a minute to say thanks and goodbye to your manager and to the HR person you deal with. People have a habit of reappearing in your career and it's good to make a small deposit in the karma bank.
Great advice
Agree that a general email or mention at the end of a team meeting like hot sheet is fine followed by a general “adios it’s been good knowing you” email on your last day.
As far as working do as much as you’re comfortable with. If you’re going right into your new gig don’t burn yourself out. I’d probably do 60-75% of my usual workload. Good luck!
I was married to 2 Irishmen, no not at the same time, I never got a bad fair thee well?
