I saw some high school kids trying to steal stuff from our store, but by the time I gathered the courage to say anything to them, they left. Has this ever happened to you? I'm in my early 30s still afraid of a reaction from teenagers. I feel kind of embarrassed.

If I see people acting squirrely I'll confront them and ask if they need anything. Paying attention to them is usually enough to get them to move on. Now, if they're already in the act of stealing stuff, we're supposed to signal security and not get directly involved. There are safety reasons for that, of course.

Don’t feel embarrassed! I wouldn’t say anything, I’d discreetly alert security or loss prevention and let them handle it.

We actually aren't allowed to say anything. Our store has a really dumb recovery policy where we try to get the merchandise back without actually making accusations. I wouldn't feel embarrassed at all.

Honestly a lot of people feel that hesitation, you’re not alone in that. You never really know how someone is going to react, especially with groups. It’s less about courage and more about safety in those situations.

How do you get experience when no one will hire you? I wouldn’t mind hanging a shingle but I feel it’d be irresponsible to do so with no experience. Unlike all of my classmates, I never landed an internship/externship in law school - had only one interview. I was a PT law student, came from a CS background, and worked in IT throughout law school. I passed the bar exam on my first try (Oct 2020) and have only had a couple interviews out of the hundreds of applications I sent out. Any suggestions?

Hi all,

Do firms match offers from other Big 4s for campus hires? I’ve received a campus offer from both
KPMG and EY. I’m more interested in the EY offer, but they are paying 3k less than KPMG.

Would it be a bad move to let them know about the other offer and try negotiating? I feel it wont make a difference in the long run, but at the same time I don’t want to leave any money on the table if possible.

Thanks!
