I think a big part of it is just not caring what people think of me anymore. If they think I am rude or demanding or difficult, oh well. I'd rather be all of those things than be a pushover, or always putting my needs last. A big part of being a woman in leadership is just letting go of controlling the narrative about what people say about you.

It’s not that they power over us it’s just we tend to show our emotions more and the moment they make us feel some type of way we’re ready to show them they got us messed up
I have no problem standing up for myself and using my voice to be honest. I learned a long time ago that nobody is going to stand up for me but me. It can be challenging being a woman in leadership but I make sure my voice gets heard.

I TRY to ensure that I treat everyone equally. Do I always succeed? Heck, no. I am human.
But I do love finding someone that works for me that has a problem with women in charge. Because they are working with a woman running their shift and/or training them until they either change their attitud or leave.
