Do you want to run a marathon or a sprint? That’s how I’d look at it. I’ve worked on those terrible accounts for more, and I can’t do it for long.
Yes totally agree! But what if you’re crushing it and then they want to put you on a terrible account, would you take the promotion?
As a junior: choose for the position where you will make the best work and work with the best people. All people who jumped to bad accounts for a short term raise or promotion are worse off now.
I’ve seen this happen in real time
For where I'm at in my career, I would rather more money and more challenging accounts.. But eventually I will want to settle down and deal with easier accounts, regardless of the money.
Interesting. At what point did that shift for you in your career?
Definitely the latest. Being able to be creative and explore various ideas gives me a lot more energy to go to work!
Sending you all the good vibes too ⚡️😊
Until I can pay my bills with fun, I'll take the higher pay 😂. Work is work at the end of the day - even the most exciting projects won't make up for being underpaid. The goal, of course, is a balance between the two, but in my 7 years' experience, that's proven hard to find.
Do you think you ever experienced a balance between the two or not yet?
