In-person job applications are a thing of the past — as obsolete as riding a horse to work. Even if you somehow get inside a locked building or past the front desk and reach HR directly, it won't work in your favor. The only thing you accomplish is coming across as a candidate who doesn't understand the proper process and shows up uninvited.

I think it’s possible that there are some places where you can still apply in person. Small, privately owned convenience stores or car repair shops, for example. But most places it’s all online. I’ve even seen computer terminals in retail stores so people can apply for jobs.
But for most companies, an in-person application is a thing of the past. Most places that I have seen want you to apply online.
In-person applications might work for small, privately owned companies, but not for bigger and well-known companies.
