Preworkout, hype music, and affirmations.
They really work.
I think it’s important to remember that everyone goes through stretches with workouts where you don’t feel your 100% best and 100% strongest. I feel like personally I’ve been conditioned to think if I have one off workout, my progress is stalled and I’ll never reach my goals. Just one of those things people don’t hear enough. Just keep pushing through it, take some time off if you need it and work your way back in
The 100% days come fewer and father between after you hit 35, too.
Go through a similar funk? Can’t seem to break it (months now...) and seeing if anyone has ideas or cues about getting back into a good headspace
1) Do you listen to music at all? I have go to songs that always get me pumped before a set.
2) do you have experiences that you can channel to get you ready for a lift? Some can be negative things or stressors.
3) go in to your set knowing you’ve done it before and your motivation can be getting there again.
I have some kind of mental issues with deadlifts now that I didn’t before. Not really sure why.
At the end of the day though, I just do what my coach programs and most of the time I do it all. If I miss a rep or two it’s usually in my last set, and I just do an extra set of a couple reps to hit my volume and let my coach tell me if technique is the problem and decide how to adjust my programming.
