Especially looking for advice on McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, and Bain & Company

I read and passed the post. Was wondering how high the OP is 😆🤣
I would tread very lightly when it comes to declining work at the Associate level
You can ask how they decided on project duration / deadline. Green flag if they identified the deliverables and a decent amount of requirements, estimated them, and then projected the time it would take to deliver… with people involved who actually do the work. Or, if deadline is fixed but scope is flexible, that can be ok too.
Red flags: client dictated fixed deadline and scope (often with little detail), only partners or SM were involved in the scope/timeline discussions, it’s a “critical project” that is acknowledged as a lot of work in a short time frame but has the potential for high $ follow on work (especially if it’s a new client). Essentially these things happen when we agree to anything to win the work only to realize after we’re screwed and have to back into a plan.
I’m in tech consulting so it might look a little different in other spaces, but data-driven statement of work agreements always fare better than a sales guy pulling a date out of a hat :)

You need to line it up now, can’t just sit on the bench and say no to projects
Get a new job if everything is a red flag
OP you did not proof read in your post there lol you put red flag twice
Pro
I would try to avoid projects that use the same color to signify different things
What are the deliverables
How many people have left the project since the start? Is the team new to working together? What is the team structure? Who is the client product owner?
Everything is a red flag, sounds about right

“You start tomorrow” uhhhh what… yes me did that said no bc the person telling me, gave a very poor description. I asked things like “are there other associates?” No don’t worry we will help you behind the scenes… that was a nope

I’m buzzed
What’s the team structure, what will be the expectations for your role, name the areas you’re hoping to grow in and ask if there will be opportunity
