Are you in audit? If yes, and if you are looking to stay in Central region, almost every office has more staff than they need already. You'll have a better chance of getting approved if you wait until you've got at least 2 busy seasons behind you.
Pwc Carolinas usually needs people
I'm still deciding but definitely a smaller city. I'm coming from Chicago
I'm in audit but I'm thinking of moving to the southeast region. Is it any better there than central? I'm aware that central is overstaffed, it's one of the reasons I'm looking to move.
I'm audit, and I transferred from Central to Southeast. The Southeast is overstaffed in general. There was a series of layoffs earlier in the year. The notable exception is Orlando. Orlando needs staff and is actively recruiting if you're interested.
Okay thanks for the insight! I have a meeting to discuss with my counselor soon but some context is good.
Glad I could help! Good luck!
What city
I transferred offices last summer as a rising Staff 2. It all depends on your desired city's needs. My new city needed staff, so I was approved quickly. The key is to express interest now to your People Consultant and Counselor. It may or may not take some time before it's actually approved. I'm assuming a cheaper city is also a smaller city? Smaller offices can be harder to transfer into than large offices because smaller offices usually don't have the need for more staff.
That's good info to know. I was thinking of North Carolina as my main contender. Central had layoffs this year as well. I didn't know about the southeast
Do you think switching firms would be a poor career decision?
I heard North Carolina got hit hard with layoffs. If you're set on moving, I don't think changing firms is necessarily a bad idea if it's what you want.
Come to Tampa!
What staff level are you? PwC Carolinas always seems to have a shortage of seniors
Oh staff 2, I'm an idiot
OP I am in same shoes as you (different office). Feel free to message me (if you can?)
