Hi there, I’ve been told that Deloitte (London, UK) is going to make me an offer but haven’t heard back and it’s been over two weeks. The recruiter mentioned it would be around the “m2 grade”. Any idea what this pay range is? … I have 3 YOE working in NHS finance and have applied for a position in Risk Advisory, public sector. Curious what life at Deloitte is like? Does a work life balance exist?

I’ve been thinking/saying for a while that I need to make the switch, but now that it’s getting closer to becoming a reality it’s stressing me out a lot.
Way happier, less pressure, less hour, 36% higher base pay.

It’s better. More predictable. But at this point based on my role and pay check there is no such thing as a strict 9-5 unless I take a pay cut. So I wouldn’t bank on zero overtime. But certainly better than client service.
I was in FDD and during my second year as a manager, I started to realize that the time and life sacrifice wasn’t worth it to (to me) to make senior manager. I still enjoyed the work so I wasn’t in a massive rush to leave but I knew longer term it wasn’t for me so I started casually looking and taking my time to find the right role. I wasn’t looking for cookie cutter FP&A work because I knew I’d get bored very quickly so I was patient to wait for a hybrid role at a smaller company. I was very up front with recruiters to weed out the ones who just wanted to place me wherever to get a commission check. Took about 15 months but finally found a senior manager role that combined FP&A, M&A and overall business/process improvement. It was admittedly good timing though because M&A is on fire and the workload was killing me but I wanted to be sure I wasn’t just jumping from one role I didn’t want to another role I didn’t want.
To piggyback on this, I'm curious if anybody has found a worthwhile industry position using one of the countless number of recruiters that contact you on linked in?
To me, if you need that kind of recruiting, the job/company probably isn't that great to begin with, but at the same time I understand some places just outsource to avoid needing that department internally.

I wasn’t looking to leave but got pinged on LinkedIn about a great role and took it. Fully remote and great pay.
Way better all around, significantly more pay
