I was so emotionally attached to this last opportunity that fell through, it's going to be really hard to emotionally recover. I'd already started imagining the work, the commute, the career pathways. Anyone have tips on how to bounce back.

I was in the same boat. One foot out the door and really excited to turn in my resignation. I'm still hoping to get out too and find my dream firm. But just because this door closes does not mean it is closed for good or that you won't find your perfect fit. It's coming! You got this!

That same thing happened to me this past week. I got a rejection from a law firm that I was DYING to work at. I was pretty bummed out but I know I will find something great.

This happened to me today. This position would have been life changing for me. Everything was great, interviews went well and very positive. It hurts a lot but I'm trying to stay positive that something similar or better will come along.

In investment management at Deloitte. Wrapping up my second year here and looking to jump into a FP&A role/ valuation analyst. Is this a reasonable jump and what would salary expectations be?

What should I expect during my call with Deloitte’s recruitment advisor? I received a verbal offer last week, and a meeting invite this week with the advisor. Is this typically where salary and signing bonus are negotiated? If so, can anyone share insights into the typical base range for experienced hires going into Consultant positions (2yrs experience w/ undergrad)?

I’ve noticed that HR, when explaining why a candidate didn’t get the job, tend to lean on “You’re great, but we had candidates with more experience in [skill relevant to the job].” I do believe this is true in some cases, but it can’t possibly be for all of them.

HR folks — what feedback have you obscured by offering that line instead?

Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. Is this normal in the entertainment world? Any suggestions?
