Depending on what you are transcribing, you could potentially spin it by focusing on the content of the transcriptions. Transcribing (i.e. listening to and sitting in on) a hundred depositions is more likely to be helpful than transcribing doctors’ audio notes, for example.
If you already have the interview coming up, I don’t think it’ll hurt. I don’t know that I would block out all other opportunities for it, either, though.
Depending on you frame it during interviews. Even though there are experiences that may not be directly helpful, the skills you build from doing that type of work can be transferrable.
