Fidelity Investments I joined FIL on 08th August 2022 and hence was eligible for appraisal but even after a good feedback, I was told that there is no increment in salary as well as bonus because of "Too Soon To Decide" rating. And this is being followed not just in our team but in whole FIL. This is the first time I am hearing such kind of thing and didn't found any thing like this on "HR Hub". So, if anyone of you know about this or have received similar gyan from Manager, please share your experience. Fidelity In

It's just the band. They're not going to break your legs.
...I’m really nervous about this. I manage a team and my reports will know how much I make. I’m fairly new to the company. I support transparency of salary when it comes to fair and equal pay but I want to have control over who it gets shared with. Am I crazy for being really concerned about this exposure?
Would love that! If you shown and proved your worth it’s aspiring but if you are eating off of favoritisms then .... it’s gonna be a problem
Well it’s the band that’s transparent - not your exact salary, right? In that case, isn’t knowing their future potential salary bracket a good thing? I hope my reports make what I make when they’re my level. Why shouldn’t that be the goal?
You’re not crazy. You have your reasons for not wanting people to know. But first it’s the band and not your exact salary. Second, the industry is heading towards more transparency so the fact that your agency is even thinking about it means they’re at the front of the pack.
Think of it this way, they are already talking about it and judging it without accurate data. Now it will just be more accurate. I’d personally be less worried about what they think about the leadership bands, then about the other levels closer to their own.
I think it’s great!! I try to share salary bands with my people anyway. Ours all overlap and I always say there are a lot of factors that go into it. Of course, I’m also that person who demands and is noisy that HR pitch potential new hires a “competitive salary” and try to push for them to be in the high end of those bands from the beginning. :)
