I work for the CES/ CAS team. It's basically a support role to the tax team. We don't deal w any technical work like preparing the return or dealing w client directly.

I really doubt the scope of my role and it's growth prospects in the future. The major concern is that will I be able to shift companies.

The worst part is no one from my team even knows the full form of CES/ CAS.

Accepting an offer in IBD, lateraling over from consulting. Opportunity of a lifetime for me so don’t want to lose it.
But timing is horrible. I joined the Army Reserves before this opportunity was on my radar. Interviewed over several months, got the offer, but shipping out in 1 month for training for 6 months.
Do I irreversibly shoot my career by joining and immediately going on LoA? I obviously haven’t mentioned it in the interview process. Or will this be forgotten a couple years in?
