Being a “car person“ is really just about passion and a love for the hobby. There’s a million and one points of interest, some people love getting in to lineage, others in to the engineering aspect, and most just think they’re cool so I get what you mean about the imposter syndrome feeling, but I wouldn’t read too much into it. enjoy the things you like.
As for the getting picked up at car meets, you could always try the fake wedding ring thing if it’s bad? I dont really have advise for you here unfortunately.
Fair enough! Thanks for your POV :)
Even as a diehard car enthusiast since I was a kid, I also have imposture syndrome cause there is always someone more knowledge/invested in the hobby. I don’t think gender alone causes it, so that should make you feel a little bit more at ease going to the car meets.
Unrelated…but is your department hiring by chance? 😂
Ok so it’s definitely not just a me thing haha cool. We aren’t in Corp strategy but are in product planning …
