I worked as a Sous Chef in a corporate Marketplace for 8 years.. I was also the catering Manager, after so long with no salary promotion/manager in site I left in February. Honestly was burnt out, a ton of responsibilities were on my shoulders and they just kept adding. I have been actively searching for a part time Office job. But it seems no company can look past the "cooking" part of my resume. I don't know where else to look! I have adjusted my resume to the "office" responsibilities I had.

It's a really hard market to make career pivots in. Like way harder than normal. Have you gone through any temp agencies to try and get some office experience? That could help you beef up your experience to not seem exclusively like kitchen experience

I have been looking! I have also applied to simple receptionist jobs part time and full time just for anything and no one is replying. the market is horrible.

It’s definitely a tough market no matter where you are looking. I guess maybe change “cooking” to like food coordinator? Something highlighting more of the office responsibilities you had. Good luck!

Thank you! Yes, I have changed the title. I also have 2 different resumes, one that highlights the cooking aspect (which i use if i apply to a kitchen) and an "office" one highlighting all aspects i did there!
