IAPP is such trash. Why does everyone recommend getting the CIPP certs when they mean nothing??

It's basic requirement in your resume now. Recruiters filter by it.

Late response, sorry. Most law schools don't have decent privacy classes, and you'd be surprised how ignorant a lot of lawyers can be to privacy issues. The CIPP demonstrates a basic understanding and, at the very least, an interest in the field.

If you care enough to dedicate the week or however long it takes to get that certification, it shows a lot more to me than the 15 mins you spent writing your cover letter.

like

Also, especially for lawyers, it affirms that you at least know more than just HIPAA. IAPP is trash and old news to us in the field, but those not familiar don't even know it exists

like

You'll run into a lot of these over the years for various other certs.

like

The only thing it really demonstrates is your ability to pay money and memorize text.

like

If you just use the site for 20m a day- the level of content, comparison privacy law grids and white papers are usually very good. Not sure about why the cert doesn't seem to be of value - bc I think it is but it doesn't mean you shoe in. It's a leveler and then it's about applying it. My 2c

Plus my current financial situation is stressful and I accepted the offer on certain conditions but now hr or the firm but saying we can't committ you. Any suggestions.

Anyone from EY-Parthenon, what does a typical senior consultant look like resume/experience wise? If I have audit and FDD experience as a Senior for 3 years (currently in FDD), a CPA, no MBA, is that enough to get in to EY-P? Or is the MBA basically required? What would I be missing? Thanks!

Hi everyone.
Just reached final on-site round for a Senior Manager position (non tech) in the logistics department (London office). Recruiter has just asked me now for my expected compensation (base salary + total comp) via email before scheduling the loop. Any idea what to aim for?

I don’t know the level but was aiming £80k base, +15% bonus. If I don’t fall under their budget, would I automatically be removed from candidates?

Background: 7YOE, 2 Masters Degree
Any tips are appreciated!
