IAAP certs are a little more legal focused.

likefunny

In addition to the above, the IBM cybersecurity certificate is more breach-based and technical. It’s also free.

like

CISM, CISSP, and others - you can go to the ISACA website and they will list them for you! Good luck!

like

CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM are all great IAPP-issued certs to build a legal foundation + best practice knowledge with.

like

Someone already mentioned the CISM and CISSP, but I also think certs like the Corporate Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) or the international version (CCEP-I) are pertinent.

Additionally, if your company is going for or looking to maintain ISO or NIST certification, it’s worth looking into something that reflects the same body of knowledge.

(And, anyone with Privacy-relevant certs and knowledge is a rare find! Consider looking at HCCA-sponsored certs, for that.)

Cipp and cissp

But more important is getting the experience

So far I received offers from PwC India, Capgemini and Lexmark for Data Engineering.

More are in pipeline from KPMG GS, TechM, Accenture.

But one peculiar thing is happening. I have appeared for 4 Cognizant interviews but in all I have been rejected. Whereas most of my friends had easily cleared Cognizant. I am switching tech, so I am a bit concerned like whether my knowledge is too shallow😐

Is it sign of an Imposter Syndrome 🥺

Pls help🙏🏾

Bain & Company Is it truly easier to get in a smaller MBB office?

Have heard a lot for different opinions on these. The logic is that it’s easier because there is a lot of supply in cities like NY, Chicago and SF, but the counter argument is that the offices with less supply are also way smaller and have a lot less demand.

Hi all! I’m inclined on taking up the CIPM training and certification exam. I’m already a certified Data Protection Officer in the Philippines. I intend on skipping CIPP as it applies to the US and EU.

How difficult was the exam? Can you share your experience studying for the CIPM exam? Is it advisable to skip CIPP?

Many thanks in advance.

Low billable, low pressure work in privacy law? Slowly realizing that as my boys get older, the money isn’t worth what I’m missing out on. Currently a tech litigation associate with lots of hearing, depo and trial experience (I’ve appeared on my own at hearings/depos) at a well respected firm. So as a 30ish yo with a government/PE/tech background and CIPM/CIPP… I’m finding privacy work is just much easier and interesting than other kinds, but still pays plenty well.

Is it too late/inadvisable to go to law school to specifically aim for privacy work?

I just find some firms are unwilling to entertain the idea that anyone but a lawyer has anything relevant to contribute in this space…
