Anyone know what other fishbowls are like?
Hello fishes🐠. Can anybody guide me on the dress code followed in the BlackRock London office? Will be joining soon and want to ensure I dress appropriately (My current workplace is very casual, people wear jeans and sneakers). For context, a woman joining in a role that is not client facing, not portfolio manager. Thanks in advance.

For the job seekers not having luck, I would suggest adding the types of roles you’re looking for, desired location and YOE when posting here so others can be of more help. For example, I know of tons of Ops roles available, but if your looking for front office I would be of less help other than just a referral
Hi. Senior Relationship Manager here in the investment/financial planning field. My current role is an operations/client relationship/ para planner role. Do you know of a potential opening you could refer me to? Thanks in advance!
Not sure if interested based on where you've been applying, but I've been job searching as well the past couple of months (focusing on federal consulting/contracting) and am now getting offers left and right. Financial analyst roles
I’ve been in the same boat but I finally got two offers around the same time. I actually just accepted a position that I thought was a long shot. Don’t be afraid to apply for positions that you think may be a stretch. I did and now I accepted a job that I didn’t think I could land in my wildest dreams. Just hang in there and stay positive. I know it’s easier said than done but keep pushing. Best of luck to you!
Honestly I had applied for the position months ago and just assumed I would never even get an interview. They contacted me last month and asked if I was still interested. I immediately responded with “absolutely yes”. A lot of HR departments are operating at a snails pace right now. I did find that reaching out to the job posters on LinkedIn at least helped me get a prescreen interview. LinkedIn is your best friend right now.
Same! ive been wondering how people are getting jobs left and right and i’m struggling
Where are you located? Feel free to message me if you want to chat about your experiences/interviews/resumes. I’ve applied/been recruited a bunch of places in the past 2 months and I got offers back from all. Happy to help!
Thank you! I'll dm you.
I work for a fintech company who is hiring . I love the company and company culture !
Can I Dm you as well? I'm interested to know more.
Yes! Same here. I have been struggling to find a position with acceptable pay.
I've been job hunting for 6 months now. I totally know what you feel. But let's keep moving forward :)
It's tough, keeping going. Don't stop. Eventually something good will fall through.
Those that persevere, are prosperous.
Keep at it and take up anyone whose replied with an offer to talk on their offer.
Where have you been applying?
Have you tried to garner referrals off here?
How’s your resume?
I would suggest doing what Analyst 2 said to do. That is how I got my job in high finance. I searched for 9 months once I lost my job bc of Covid. Never had a problem since.
Happy to refer ya to EY if that interests you
Thank you! I've sent you a DM
Yup.
Definitely feel your pain! Just gotta keep at it
I’m a contractor with clients in the finance realm and it didn’t seem like there’s a shortage of vacant positions. However, not many seem immediately urgent to fill.
Sorry, not being very helpful but the one thing they have in common is 70%+ fit.
What type of roles are you looking for?
Definitely in the same boat. Been unemployed for 6 months I just received an offer as a staff accountant, close enough 🥴
“Job hunting in finance”? This is the first 🚩 for me
There are open positions in groupe. Check the roles on Marcel
Do you have any work experience? It's much harder when you are very entry level. Also are you only applying to top companies or are you applying to all of the companies? It sounds like you're limiting yourself to top firms but there is no information provided on your educational work background. It also depends on the market it once took me a YEAR to find a job. But I was in Tampa Florida and there weren't a lot of commercial real estate companies there which was my background.
With high inflation, bear markets, the Ukraine war, etc....Wall Street is suffering and many big firms have hiring holds. I'm NYC based and my big firm is only hiring revenue generating roles in a limited capacity through year end. Keep trying, it's probably not all you!
