How did you not pay for marketing when their basic level fee is $79/month? I’d say that’s paying for marketing.

Ouu we have an expert linguist in the house. Let me be more circumspect: I didn’t pay for marketing outside of my subscription to LawChamps*

What area are you getting leads?

I just saw 2 emails that I had a match from them and ignored it because I didn’t recognize the company. I must have signed up and forgot about them.

Can anyone of you please help in calculating how much will be my income tax per month(I am availing the Old tax regime)? Different IT calculators show different figures, not sure which is correct :(

And as for the interest amount in the Savings Account and Fixed Deposits, do both fall under "Income from Interest"? Or under "Other Income"? Or does Interest amount in Savings account fall under "Interest from Deposits - 80TTA"?

The figures are given in the screenshot 👇🏻

Additional Posts in Small Law / Solos

I gave notice to one of the partners at my small firm last week. It was amicable, but she told me to wait to tell the other partner until he returned from vacation. In the interim, she told the other partner and he blew up. He is now making insane demands and threatening to call my future employer if i don’t meet them. Most problematically, he refuses to meet with me to discuss transitioning my cases over the next week. I am not sure what to do, and I am worried about ethical rules.

Thinking of starting my own estate planning and real estate closing law firm. I have some experience in both. My concern is getting clients once I open the doors. I graduated in 2018 and have worked in a few different jobs since then. I am located about 45 min outside of Boston. Anyone open their own firm and see success right of the bat? What did you do to start getting clients in the door?

Our firm is growing fast and we need to add another attorney to keep up with the work. Our compensation package is 20-30% higher than what others firms in our area are offering. However, I’m still finding it difficult to get qualified associate to even apply for the position. I think part of the problem may be because we are located in a mid-sized city rather than a major metro area. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to attract talent when you are a newer small firm in a mid-size market?
