Has anyone ever exited Technology/Digital type consulting roles into something more business / commercially oriented? If so, how did you go about it and what sort of roles were open to you? I fell into Tech and it has never really been of huge interest to me. My background is 10 years experience at IBM > EY-Parthenon > AlixPartners with an MBA in between.
Do those from MBB and BB banks have best shot at B School? I rarely hear about T2s and Big 4 getting into m7
How difficult is it to pivot out of healthcare? Applied to be a business analyst for current company (1.5 years in) but am more interested in different industries. Thoughts?
Been doing a lot more 401k biz and want to eventually do that alone. Want to complement the 401k with group DI/group life. Is it possible with smaller companies? What about group life? Any experience?
So, any NON standing desk recommendations? I don’t really like standing desks. I’d like something that looks decent, that has at least some storage, with a good amount of… square footage, I guess?
Maybe one or two of the reporters pretending to care about Biden’s answer to court rebalancing because they’re bored of a blowout race could ask the president or senate republicans about the president of the United States believing that Barack Obama and Joe Biden murdered Seal Team 6. https://twitter.com/UrbanAchievr/status/1316118694385385473?s=20
My wife has a job opportunity in San Diego. We are thinking about moving from dc. Anyone have thoughts on sd? We have visited a few times, but mostly for touristy things.

Setting up our first small business 401k! Should we be an ERISA 3(38) advisor? What are the pros and cons?
Do people realize that it is risky for an employer to have you on payroll if you aren’t vaccinated? If you get sick, they have to grant you leave and all that. So beyond the other staff, it’s risky to have someone employed and risk they end up with Covid because they will be short on labor. So it’s not unreasonable for an employer to require a vaccine to protect headcount.
I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?
Is Deloitte consulting more demanding than other Big 4 consulting arms? (Technology consulting specifically)
when I got laid off couple of months back, one of the leadership I worked closely with for couple of years said that my skills are not right for the xyz firm and that I should take it - contd
Advice desperately needed. I've been at my agency for 6 years and I have a one year old child. Work is going well since I returned 6 months ago after maternity leave, my boss likes me, has given me more responsibility and praises my work but he's basically told me I won't be promoted because the 2 CD slots above me are both filled. Staying would be comfortable and easy with the little one especially but I feel I'm never going to grow and progress if I don't move up so I feel I have no choice but to look elsewhere. What would you do?
MBB 🐠 I’ve heard that your firms generally only keep the top 20% of newer resources after 2yrs. How true is this? How likely is it for someone to get counseled out at the 2yr mark?
GT MBA (Management of Technology - similar to an MIS) worth it for a tech consultant that wants to stay tech focused, but didn't get a Stanford/MIT worthy GMAT?
