Hope everyone in IFS is hanging in during this crazy COVID-19 time.

Accepted an offer of employment with a mid-sized firm to begin in a couple of months. I’ve always wanted to shoot for big law but haven’t had the opportunity thus far. Overall, I accepted because I didn’t want to take the opportunity for granted in addition to the uncertainty with hiring due to covid. Would it be an issue to shoot for a big law opportunity in the interim? I know how this looks and sounds, so I definitely don’t want to set a precedent that I deal in bad faith.

If people took COVID as seriously as they do CDIFF- they would wear masks! LOL

When watching the news about people getting hospitalized with COVID, I noticed that many of them were catching pneumonia while in the hospital, and subsequently getting intubated. I suspect that for a not-insignificant number of people who catch pneumonia while hospitalized with COVID, this infection puts them over the edge and causes them to have to get intubated. Once intubated, people who didn't have pneumonia prior to intubation are now much more likely to get it....

Got the absolute worst freaking cold at 38 weeks. Had the flu and covid vaccines and am testing negative for covid but omg I cannot shift this after a week and I swear it's getting worse. I feel like i want to be done with the human race. Before COViD I truly liked people, my work, and I had good friendships and hobbies.

Now, I just want to turn my back on my career, as pros in my field are never trusted or valued. I’ve lost interest in hanging out with people other than my GF and my dogs. So much entitlement in people today.

What is considered a “large” caseload in employment litigation? I work at a large L&E boutique law firm and handling about 14-15 active litigation cases in state/federal court or arbitration. Some of these matters are multi-plaintiff and multi-defendant cases, but none are class actions. This does not include any matters I am handling in the charge stage or in pre-litigation.
