Hot take: those schools would improve your brand.
Outside of the consulting/PE bubble or certain recruiters no one knows what OW/LEK/ATK are (yes I know they are highly reputable firms, but your typical FAANG or unicorn recruiter prob doesn’t know what they are)
Can’t speak to Fuqua or Tuck but I know plenty of people without consulting experience that got post MBA MBB offers from stern and Darden.
I’m biased but I’d say that you should go. Life is more than just money and business school is a lot of fun.
I’d also say that T3 is a overly punitive for those schools. While they’re not HSW , they’re still really good programs with competitive admissions
@M also big tech offers tuition reimbursement from successful internships? I thought it was primarily the major consulting firms that do so...interesting
Fuqua is T3? Lol! I got my MBA from Fuqua and tons of great exits to FAANG and MBB from there.
Agree.
If your goal is tech or PE/VC, I’m not sure if I’d do this. You said you already have debt that you’re working one for one, but more importantly, I’m not sure these schools help you with your goals (but in very different ways). For PE/VC you won’t be able to recruit anywhere that you’d likely want to go from those schools. For tech, you should be able to get into industry from a T2 without an MBA, get actual tech experience which is what they care about (and not an MBA).
If you look at the “dream job descriptions” for Director or VP or C-Suite- do they usually have an MBA? I think it depends on your goals and if those job descriptions ask for MBAs.
What are your professional goals? Brand is just one of the reasons to get an MBA.
