If working in Tysons/McLean is it better to live in downtown DC or Arlington?

I have a young mentee (Junior at University of Michigan) who is hardworking, ambitious, and a total sweetheart!!
She is looking for a TV/film/production internship for this summer and I was hoping someone could help give her a referral to an internship 🥺 She has been diligently networking and searching for internships for over half a year. I know she will wow everyone she will meet and I can’t think of anyone more deserving than her. I work in healthcare so I wish I could do more to help her!

I’m relocating to the US from an international rotation to work in Galveston. I have never been to Texas and I am trying to find the best spot for my family to live in. So far from reading online it sounds like Pearland is a good option but I have not been able to validate that/ figure out what other options are out there. I would appreciate all advice:
1. Would you recommend living in Pearland?
2. What are other good areas to live in? Safe and would like to be less than 1 hour from Galveston.
