Have heard Coke is Moving to Dentsu.
Multiple sources- in multiple countries 😬
BethAnn Kaminkow (former head of VML Commerce @ WPP) was tight tight with Coke Atlanta and did very good conversion work in a tough commerce environment, which makes total sense she got the nod to run Dentsu NA after they cleared out Ms. Clark (who herself was a Coke HQ alum.)
Media is tied to retail media (and growing) so Media will move first but probably ATL too if the procurement $ are right…
Coke shareholders are fuming that they haven’t been able to bust the $72 share price threshold.
Dentsu has a very limited (to none?) core commerce portfolio domestically, so if you are a known entity for that on the WPP side you “may” get the nod to move over, but history does tell us what usually happens when a global client moves to a different agency (and this case different geography holdco/culture) 😥
Beth Anne in shopper not media. Her and those teams no say, influence or work in retail Media. Her move means nothing for Dentsu/ Coke. She's great but not that kind of influence
Of course. Any excuse to layoff so that the C-suite gets their EOB and shareholders earn more profit, ghats what will be done
Mark my words. This will be exactly the same situation as how WK took almost the entire McDonald’s business from all their other agencies. It won’t happen in a day or a month but it starts with the client moving “one part” of the account to another agency and then more and more and more. WPP (or just any agency) creating an entire global agency entity like Open X was a completely insane move. It was never going to last but I’m curious what that’ll mean for it when this happens. Will they pull a LePub and begin to give them more than just Coke business? Who knows
That isn't a theory that is accurate. Financials are awful giant chunks are just a loss so..
Closed X
If WPP is an advertising agency, are there going to be layoffs?
Multiple.
No because I work on clients that are boring and stable.
The Open X layoffs have been rolling for a couple years. Just ask Kyla Jacobs 😉
Yes
